Duties & Responsibilities:

Thin Film Coating Technician

Job Description:

  • Follow all safety and quality procedures as defined by the company.
  • Operate and maintain optical coating machines.
  • Work in clean room and non-clean room environments installing and removing optical components.
  • Handle solvents and chemicals following PPE requirements.
  • Maintain equipment, operate glass beading glove box, and install or replace coating hardware using hand tools and power grinders.
  • Understand and follow detailed work instructions without deviation.
  • Learn to operate and monitor coating parameters within 6 months with a mentor.
  • Load metal tooling into machines manually and mechanically.
  • Use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Achieve productivity levels as determined by management.

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and background check required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work within an ITAR facility.
  • Ability to achieve government classified clearance is preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Energetic personality with strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to follow detailed technical instructions.
  • Develop new methods to improve functionality and efficiency.
  • Proven success in maintaining quality control and data management.
  • Willingness to learn new technology, software, and practices.
  • Effective communication of updates and progress to management, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and spirometry tests.

Physical Requirements/Working Environment:

  • Work in clean room and warehouse conditions, with occasional inventory access.
  • Must be able to reach, grasp, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
