Position Overview

Under the general direction of the Academic Personnel Assistant Director in the Dean's Office for the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CHASS), the Analyst will provide critical analytical and administrative support in Academic Personnel for multiple departments within the College. Responsibilities include conducting complex reviews of academic personnel actions such as merit, promotion, and appointment, providing recommendations to Department Chairs and staff regarding policies and procedures, analyzing problems, and maintaining knowledge of system-wide and local policies. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and delivering high-quality customer service. The Analyst will serve as backup support to other Academic Personnel Analysts and will work independently across multiple departments, providing leadership and policy interpretation in managing centralized processes.

This recruitment aims to fill 2 openings in the same department, reporting to different supervisors. The position offers a hybrid work schedule. The full salary range is $29.21 - $51.15 per hour, with offers based on experience, education, and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization; sponsorship for visas is not available. All employees must comply with university policies and applicable laws.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/training
  • 2-4 years of related Human Resources or UC Academic Personnel experience
  • Knowledge of UC academic policies (e.g., APM, Call, MOU, ASE Agreement)
  • Experience with university online applications (eFilePlus, APRecruit)
  • Strong analytical, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to interpret policies and manage multiple projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in academic dossier preparation and personnel administration
