Description:

Our client is a biotechnology company. The Vice President of Investor Relations will be responsible for developing and executing a strategic investor relations program to communicate the company's strategies and progress to the investment community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops an annual strategic investor relations program to communicate the company's strategies and progress to the investment community and adapt pending internal and external events
  • Leads and manages the company's participation in banking conferences, non-deal roadshows, R&D days, analyst days, bus tours, and 1-1 meetings
  • Develops an in-depth understanding of the company's technologies, programs, operations, financial performance, partners, competitors, and strategies
  • Leads development of investor communications, including corporate presentation decks, earnings releases, earnings and other conference call scripts, management Q&As, website content, the business section of Form 10-K, etc.
  • Contributes to Board materials, other company press releases, and SEC documents as needed (e.g., Form 8-Ks, Form S-3 filings)
  • Leads development of briefing materials for management in preparation for investor meetings
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for the investor community, maintains a database of interactions, and conveys sentiments and feedback to management
  • Tracks and analyzes shareholder base and investment trends for the company, its peers, and its competitors to inform investor targeting strategy and monitor the impact of strategy over time
  • Tracks and analyzes sell-side models, including comparison to internal forecasts, to assess expectations and determine implications for analyst and investor communications
  • Works with the competitive intelligence function and other leaders across the company to understand competitor performance, as well as industry, regulatory, and other relevant trends, to inform differentiated corporate messaging
  • Supports the development and execution of the company's financing strategy
  • Develops and manages annual investor relations budget
  • Leads corporate ESG initiatives
  • Collaborates on the execution of the annual meeting of stockholders
  • Partners with the legal and corporate communications teams to ensure all external communications are accurate, consistent with corporate messaging, and compliant with securities regulations

Education, Experience, Skills:

  • BA/BS required; MBA or relevant Ph.D. desired
  • 15+ years of investor relations experience in a publicly-traded biotechnology/pharmaceutical company, at an investor relations firm working with life sciences clients, or on the buy or sell-side working in biotechnology/pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to present and respond to questions about complex scientific and clinical data
  • Deep understanding of capital markets and the financial statements and valuation models used by investors and analysts
  • Well-versed in SEC and FDA regulations impacting investor and other external communications
