Our client is a global, research-driven pharmaceutical focusing on treatment options for diseases and conditions for which there is no satisfactory treatment option to date. The company is looking for a Buyer Specialist to join the team!

Location: Fremont, CA

Shift: Mon-Fri, 8:00AM-5:00PM

Type: 6-Month Contract

Job Description:

  • Works in an office setting under desirable conditions with few or no disagreeable features. The individual may be required to enter production support areas.
  • Some domestic and international travel are required.
  • Must be able to read and see clearly. Vision clarity with or without correction to read handwritten as well as computer-generated documents.
  • Attendance requirements are based on general attendance policies and the needs of the business as set forth by direct manager.
  • Significant interaction with multiple departments across the site to collect, influence and collaborate activities.
  • Groups to include, but not limited to: Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Quality, Finance, Facilities, Project Management, Site Leadership Team, Corporate Stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' buying/planning experience preferably in a pharmaceutical environment with a Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • 5 years minimum experience, 3 years direct experience may be considered with a Master of Science degree.
  • Experience utilizing an MRP system (highly prefer SAP) to plan, order, cost, track materials.
  • Must have experience utilizing Advanced Planning systems to plan, track and coordinate shipment of materials, API and product.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
  • Ability to do complex analysis in Microsoft Excel is a must.
  • Ability to develop and improve processes based on Six Sigma or LEAN methodologies (certification a plus) strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure is necessary to be successful in this role.
