Job Title: Intake Counselor

Location: 2403 Professional Dr, Santa Rosa, CA.

Organization: Center Point DAAC (formerly Drug Abuse Alternatives Center)

Reports to: Intake Manager

Hourly Rate: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour


Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Substance Abuse Intake Counselor to join our outpatient clinic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in substance abuse treatment, excellent communication skills, and a passion for empowering individuals to overcome addiction.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct evaluation assessments and determine admission criteria for residential and outpatient treatment
  2. Provide direct treatment, facilitate education and process groups, and collect urinalysis tests
  3. Maintain accurate client files, case notes, and daily records
  4. Respond to community inquiries, provide written reports, and participate in staff meetings
  5. Coordinate with medical service providers to ensure clients receive all required medical care as needed.
  6. Coordinate with mental health service providers to ensure all necessary care and medication is provided as needed.
  7. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  1. Valid registration or certification in Substance Abuse Counseling from an accredited institution (CCAPP, CAADE, CADTP)
  2. 2+ years of experience in outpatient substance abuse treatment or related field
  3. Experience in intake and admissions, with knowledge of admission criteria and procedures
  4. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  5. Current certification in CPR and First Aid
  6. Valid California Driver's License
  7. Knowledge of evidence-based treatment modalities and counseling techniques
  8. Experience with evidence-based substance abuse treatment models and an understanding of treatment modalities
  9. Knowledge of community resources and services
  10. Knowledge of drug and alcohol addiction and trauma-informed care
  11. Ability to do data entry into various electronic systems

  3. Ability to manage multiple deadlines, respond to crisis situations

Background Check:

  1. Must be able to pass and maintain fingerprinting and background checks with no violent or sexual crimes, and no crimes involving children or fraud
