Redwood Credit Union is looking for an IT Specialist III, who will be the technical lead that ensures the confidentiality, availability and integrity of computing systems within the organization. This is a Certified A+ and MCP professional who provides advanced computer and network operations support and provides second tier support of desktop
and network equipment. The specialist provides superior customer service that meets the RCU service standards and values to employees of Redwood Credit Union. The specialist performs and prioritizes the technology support and administration functions necessary to maintain service.
Essential Functions
Computer and Network Operations
• Develop, maintain and follow department operations for Server and virtualized systems, network, storage, backup, and phone environments as assigned.
• Perform log and system management reviews as well as operations and administration on all systems.
• Provide advanced skills in ensuring adequate controls are maintained in computer and network operational areas.
• Recommend improvements in efficiencies and effectiveness of network, phone, desktop and computer operations.
• Communicate with IT management on projects, support and future needs planning both in writing and verbally.
• Maintain documented network, computer, storage and systems diagrams and integration cross references on all systems, as assigned.
Technical Support
• Maintain full operability of server and virtualized systems, network, storage, backup, and phone environments as assigned.
• Provide advanced end user support and guidance to other technical staff on end user issues.
• Provide advanced technical support and administration to server and virtualized systems, network, storage, backup, and phone environments as assigned.
• Respond to and document requests for technology assistance via phone, verbal, or e-mail request.
• Diagnose, repair and create documented process for assigned technology issue resolution.
• Research, recommend, install, update, maintain, and retire new hardware and software
solutions.
• Prioritize problem resolution and daily schedule as work dictates.
• Plan effective preventative maintenance with your peers on all systems.
• Support the collection and administration of hardware and software asset inventory.
• Communicate professionally with all levels of staff.
• Train with vendors to support new technology or enhance knowledge of current technology and
provide mentorship to staff within the IT organization on technical advances.
• Uphold department service standards and organizational values.
Security
• Research, develop and employ security standards and practices on the computing
environment
and assigned technologies.
• Respond to and report to security issues.
• Apply threat mitigations and update operating systems as security flaws are discovered.
• Maintain patches and apply security updates as necessary
• Solve outstanding security issues through research and management suggested options.
Other Functions
• Formulate and ensure adherence to quality assurance standards that includes organized data rooms and surrounding areas.
• Maintain technical proficiencies to support current and planned hardware, software and network computing needs.
• Research new technologies, draft recommendations and technology plans and requirements for business needs.
• Effectively utilize project, change and incident management skills and documentation.
• Demonstrate current technological understanding in the execution of duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
