Description:

My Client is hiring for a Leasing Agent to join their team! Temp to Hire position!! Do you have the experience with with lease-up, preferably at an affordable property. Knowledge of Section 8, tax credit, or similar programs preferred. Let's connect!! Hiring ASAP!!

40 hours a week / $22.73 - $28.41 per hour.

Job Duties (including reporting structure and responsibilities):

  • Support all lease-up activities, including contacting applicants for interviews and documentation, conducting interviews, processing files for compliance approval, requesting verification from third-party agencies, and following up for clarifications or additional documentation.
  • Prepare approved files for move-in and coordinate with selected candidates to schedule move-in dates and other appointments.

Additional Qualifications or Information

  • Experience with lease-up processes, preferably in affordable housing.
  • Knowledge of Section 8, tax credit, or similar programs is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid California Driver's License, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently perform desk-based computer tasks and sit for extended periods.
  • Occasionally stand, walk, reach above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, grasp forcefully, use a telephone, sort/file paperwork, and lift/carry/push/pull objects up to 15 pounds.

Essential Duties

  • Answer phones courteously and pleasantly.
  • Greet applicants, residents, and vendors.
  • Support the Community Manager and/or Leasing Director with marketing efforts, including mailing materials and tracking marketing activities.
  • Meet with prospective tenants and provide unit tours.
  • Accept and review rental applications for completeness and legibility.
  • Assist with entering pre-applications into the waitlist software system.
  • Initiate calls to applicants on the waitlist for vacant units and track responses.
  • Assist with scheduling certification appointments and processing applicant files for approval.
  • Initiate background screening and approval processes for applications.
  • Receive and complete resident work orders, maintaining the Work Order Logbook.
  • Prepare and deliver general notices as needed for the Community Manager.
  • Collect rent payments and security deposits under the supervision of the Community Manager.
  • Store all relevant documentation in resident files.
  • Coordinate resident social functions and communications.
