Description:

The Hilton Garden Inn in Napa has immediate opening for an AM Server. This position is needed from 6am - 11:30am one weekend shift . This position will provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Each server's primary objective is to show our guests such a marvelous time, so they will want to return again.
Qualifications

  1. Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  2. Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
  3. Possess basic math skills and have the ability to operate a point-of-sale system.
  4. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  5. Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 25 pounds.
  6. Must be able to lift and reach above shoulder height frequently during shift.
  7. Must have or ability to obtain Food Handlers Certification within 30 days of hire.
  8. Must have or ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Server (RBS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Welcome and greet guests. Make all our guests feel comfortable and let them know you're there to personally take
    care of them.*
  2. Inform guests of specials and menu changes.* Take drink order.
  3. Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
  4. Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.*
  5. Take food and beverage orders from guests, enter orders in our point-of-sale system which relays orders to the kitchen, either in person or on the telephone.
  6. Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely matter, in the restaurant or through room service.*
  7. Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.*
  8. Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or charge to guest room.*
  9. Perform side work at the start and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  10. Maintain clean service areas.
  11. Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
  12. Responsible for clearing and resetting tables.
  13. Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  14. Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by immediate supervisor.
  15. Star service - sequence of service, knowledge of menu items
  16. Follows policies and procedures for shift end checkout and dropping of all monies (room charges and credit card).
  17. Maintain positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers clients, co-workers, and management.
