Position Overview

The Temporary Leasing Agent will assist with various lease-up activities, reporting directly to the Community Manager and/or Leasing Director. Responsibilities include interviewing applicants, managing applicant files, coordinating documentation with third-party agencies, and preparing approved applicants for move-in. Experience with lease-ups, particularly in affordable housing, is preferred, along with knowledge of Section 8, tax credit, or similar housing programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle all leasing inquiries by phone in a professional and friendly manner
• Welcome and assist applicants, residents, and vendors
• Support marketing initiatives, including mail campaigns and tracking results
• Provide property tours to prospective tenants
• Process rental applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Assist in managing the waitlist, entering pre-applications, and contacting applicants for vacant units
• Schedule certification appointments and gather necessary data for approval
• Initiate and oversee background screenings and applicant approvals
• Maintain the Work Order Logbook and process resident work orders
• Assist with preparing and delivering community notices
• Collect rent payments and security deposits under the guidance of the Community Manager
• Organize and maintain resident files and documents
• Help coordinate resident events and communications
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with lease-ups, particularly in affordable housing
• Familiarity with Section 8, tax credit, or similar housing programs
