**JOB SUMMARY**

Reporting to the Transportation Manager, the Transportation Specialist is responsible for facilitating smooth flow of Medline freight inbound and outbound. Additionally, they are also responsible for assisting with general transportation inquiries, carrier issues and escalations.

**Duration: 1 Permanent and 1 Six Month Contract**

**Location: Guelph Distribution Center**

**CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

* Respond to transportation related general inquiries (internal and external)

* Review and record carrier compliance to internal policies

* Recording carrier investigations and maintaining failure log

* Facilitate movement of Medline shipments

* Data collection and recording

* Preparing and maintaining various reports for the Manager

* Coordinate all incoming freight with receiving team

* Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**

**QUALIFICATIONS**

* College Diploma or equivalent

* Minimum 1-2 years of logistics experience

* Strong oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

* Strong listening and problem resolution skills; strong organizational skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with dedication to meeting deadlines.

* Excellent work ethic and a positive attitude

* Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment

* Experience with SAP considered an asset.
